Before we get to this month's challenge details, we'd like to say good-bye and bid a fond farewell to two of our teammies, Renee and LeeAnn, who are stepping down from the team. Thanks for all your amazing projects ladies and we hope to continue seeing you both around blogland! We wish you the very best and we'll miss you. Big hugs from all of us!
That said, we'd like to welcome two new members to our design team! Please say hello to Dorlene and Michele! Be sure to check out their blogs by clicking on their names above their pics below. These are a couple talented ladies and we know you're going to love what you see!
I am a wife of 33 years, mother to four young adults, and grandmother of one. I have loved to create my whole life and was lucky enough to have a mother who supported it. I started scrapbooking in 2000 and never looked back. Scrapbooking introduced me to stamping and paper crafts and so much more. I don't have one set style since I love experimenting with new mediums and techniques. I do love to get my hands messy! There's not much better than inky fingers! When I'm not in my craft room, I love to read and watch tv with my family.
and
I have been married to Jim for 27 years; we have three children, two girls and one boy. We live in a very small community - think 700 people, counting our dog, we jump up to 701. :D I used to be able to say we stay very busy with all kinds of sports, but our last one is finishing high school so come Fall 2019, we will officially be empty-nesters!
I originally began scrapbooking when I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for two years a long, long time ago. Somewhere along the line, I discovered the immediate gratification of stamping a card and I was hooked; haven't looked back since...and um, haven't touched those scrapbooks either although I do dabble a bit in Project Life and at least keep up somewhat on those memories!
I did return to work after those two years off, and let's be honest, I'm just a better wife, mom, friend, you-name-it when I'm working. I am a full-time executive assistant working for the man known as the Father of Extended Stay (think Residence Inn, Summerfield Suites, Candlewood Suites - he created all those); we stay very busy and I relish my job. But to keep me sane, I enjoy paper crafting, reading, music and exercising.
As far as my style, I've never been very good at clean & simple; I tend to like lots of layers or go all out with mixed-media creations. I love coloring with Copics and adding depth and shading with pencils - in fact, I love coloring with Copics on watercolor paper. Yes, I realize its meant for watercoloring, but that's something I'm still practicing! You can check out my work at my blog: Whimsical Creations or on Instagram where I share lots of 'in-progress' photos, also Whimsical Creations; 2018 was a rough year, but I'm so looking forward to 2019 and the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog - man, are there some super fun challenges coming your way!
